A seven-year-old Chinese girl has a giant mole taking over the back side of her body.

The oldest cat on record was Crème Puff from Austin, Texas, who lived from 1967 to August 6, 2005, three days after her 38th birthday. A cat typically can live up to 20 years, which is equivalent to about 96 human years.

The world record for most body piercings in one session is 1015 piercings in 7 hours and 55 minutes achieved by Charlie Wilson (UK) and Kam Ma (UK) at the Sunderland Body Art, Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, UK, on March 4, 2006.

A 3 month old baby starved to death because her parents were raising a virtual child.

This is sick. A couple in South Korea starved their prematurely born daughter by feeding it only once a day. Yet they somehow made time to go to the local internet cafe for 12 hours a day so they could take care of their virtual child.

They both didn't have jobs, and they spent almost all their time online because they were addicted to the internet. They have since been arrested. Here's the full story

You can teach yourself to control your dreams.
The method is called “lucid dreaming,” which means that you’re aware of the fact that you’re dreaming. That way you have the freedom to choose how your dreams go. In most cases people turn nightmares into good dreams or fly

One of the smallest frogs in the world has been discovered. The species was spotted inside and around pitcher plants in Malaysian rain forests on the island of Borneo, which is divided among Brunei, Indonesia, and Malaysia. The new species was announced Wednesday Aug 25th, but the frogs have been hiding in plain view for more than a century.

5.In reality, Frankenstein is the surname of the doctor who created the monster in Mary Shelley’s novel – Dr. Victor Frankenstein. The proper term for the beast is “Frankenstein’s monster” (yes, how creative). The confusion is likely due to movie adaptations of the tale, in which far more emphasis is placed on the monster as the main character.

FACTS about Facebook

THE CEO
The original founder of Facebook and CEO is 24 year old Mark Zuckerburg. Mark and 3 of his roommates created Facebook while attending Harvard University and launched the site on February 4, 2004 from their college dorm room. Forbes Magazine named Mark “the world’s youngest self-made billionaire” being worth an estimated $1.5 billion due to his creation of the popular website.

FIRST INVESTOR

This is 41 year old American entrepreneur and Co-founder of Pay Pal Peter Thiel, who was the first person to invest in Facebook. It’s said his original investment in the social networking site in June 2004 was about $500,000 and as far as I know Peter still owns shares in that site.

COUNTRIES THAT DOESN'T ALLOW FACEBOOK

I found this fact kind of interesting but also weird. Syria security was concerned to stop a spam campaign that used Facebook to promote false teaching to children about religion and war. Basically most articles I have read claim the country of Syria is afraid terrorist groups and so on have much easier times getting to their children on the social site. All I can say to this is in a way I understand but I’m glad I don’t live in a country that bans what social sites I can visit.
$12.5 MILLION INVESTOR
The next big company to take a chance and invest in Facebook was Accel Partners. In May 2005, the company made an investment of $12.5 million then April 2006 Greylock Partners decided to invest $25 million in Facebook as well.
MICROSOFT INVEST

Within 4 years of launching Facebook, became the number 1 social networking site on the web but according to other sources it ranks 2 nd . Finally, in 2007 after seeing all the other major companies investing in Facebook, Microsoft contacted the owners of the site proposing an investment in return for 5% stake in the company. At the time they giant software company was offering up to $500 million for the investment. Owners of Facebook declined that offer but on October 24, 2007 Microsoft announced that they had purchased 1.6% of Facebook shares for the sum of $246 million.

FACEBOOK USERS AND APPLICATION
As most know, one of Facebook’s biggest downfalls is the applications that you’re requested to add every time you log in or do a quiz a friend has sent you. According to a study that was done in Nov 2007 there where over several thousands applications with another 100 being added daily. Crazy! In December 2007 to about the end of January of 2008, Facebook had seen its first drop in visitors in 3 years which was due mostly to the application spam within the site. The same study also showed that there were over 70 million daily active users to the site.

DAILY NUMBER OF PHOTOS BEING UPLOADED
Most people who have an account with Facebook know the amount of pictures their friends post and so on but did you know that daily number of photos uploaded is over 14 million? I had no idea the number was so high but it does explain all the errors you encounter when using the site. Also the social network has been always named “Facebook” but it officially became Facebook.com in August 2005 when it purchased the web address for the sum of $200,000.

FAILURE OF YAHOO AND GOOGLE BUY OUT
I don’t know how it came about but either Google and Yahoo where feeling threaten by the up and coming of the social network or they seen a way they could make a mass profit but in late September 2006 talks with Yahoo where underway and is rumoured they offered $1 billion to buy out Facebook where Google offered about $2 billion. Facebook owners where either holding out for more money or they realized they could make more in the long run from the site and decided to decline the offer from both sites.

ANOTHER BUSINESS TYCOON INVEST IN FACEBOOK

This is Li Ka-shing also known as the World’s 11th richest man. This Chinese business tycoon has had his hand in a little bit of everything business orientated. He even had shares in Canada’s Imperial Bank of Commerce in 2005 which was worth about $1.2 billion. After following Facebook for a year the Chinese business man decided he wanted a part in the social networking site and on November 30, 2007 invested $60 million dollars.

EMPLOYEES AND OVERALL VALUE

In March 2008, Facebook had over 500 full-time employees on their payroll and according to other sources the total value of the company is now worth a easy $15 billion. Not too bad for a program a guy in his dorm room created from a project for school.

Frat wars in DLSU bar exam

Author: DoRA /

Police have connected the explosion which wounded 44 people along Taft Avenue to a conflict between two rival fraternities.
The explosion went off near the De La Salle University (DLSU) campus as the traditional Salubong festivities were underway to celebrate the end of the month-long bar exams. The police have ruled out terrorism as the reason behind the attack.
Manila Police District (MPD) officer-in-charge Chief Superintendent Roberto Rongavilla told reporters on Monday that the explosive was launched towards a gathering of Tau Gamma Phi fraternity members, but fell short and landed among a group of San Beda College law students, mostly from the Alpha Phi Beta fraternity and sorority.
“[According to] unofficial information [I received], there is a sketch account of a male person wearing a t-shirt with Greek letter emblem ‘AKRHO’ who then threw the suspected bomb at [the] Tau Gamma fraternity,” said Rongavilla.

However he added that this information was only “something to start on.”
“While it is true that a member of the fraternity (AKRHO) may be a suspect, it is also possible that the bomber only wore the shirt to mislead investigators,” he said.
He added that the kind of explosive has yet to be determined.
“Theoretically, we really thought it was a pillbox,” he said. “On the other hand, we also thought it was a Molotov bomb. It could also be a grenade. This will be revealed later.”
“We have to wait for the results of the chemical analysis of the Scene of the Crime Operations (SOCO). We cannot make a conclusion without the result of the chemical analysis on the fragments recovered at the site,” said Chief Inspector Oliver Navales, the head of the MPD Explosives and Ordnance Division (EOD).
“Last night, we gave instructions [to the police] to coordinate with the hospitals,” Rongavilla added. “That if there’s shrapnel found in the victims, it should be preserved [for analysis].”

Victims
The blast wounded 44 people, two of whom had to have limbs amputated.
Raissa Laurel of San Sebastian College, who is currently recovering at the Philippine General Hospital’s (PGH) intensive care unit, had both legs removed due to damage from the blast.
According to Laurel, an explosive device placed inside a small box had gone off right in front of her. She did not know who had thrown the box towards the place she was standing.
Another unnamed victim at the Manila Doctors’ Hospital (MDH) has had to have her left leg amputated. Doctors are currently working to save her right leg and left hand.

Outrage over explosion
The attack has been condemned by Supreme Court Chief Justice Renato Corona.
"The Chief Justice sympathizes with the victims of the explosion and has directed Court Officials to attend to the victims' medical needs," said a statement from the Supreme Court.
Corona has also called on police "to identify the perpetrators of this senseless act of cowardice, and bring them to the bar of justice."
Observers on the Internet have also expressed their outrage over the blast.
“There is no justification for lobbing an explosive into a densely packed crowd of people who are oblivious to everything but cheering for their friends, schoolmates, family and loved ones. Absolutely none,” said University of the Philippines (UP) vice-president for legal affairs Ted Te in a Facebook post, adding that he would not believe that “one who would throw an explosive into a crowd did not deliberately plan to kill other people.”

“It was an act done with malice, with premeditation, intentionally with the purpose of inflicting mortal harm,” Te said, opining that the fraternities involved should take the initiative to surrender the ones responsible for the blast, "[o]therwise, they reduce ALL greek lettered societies, many of them legitimate, to nothing better than street gangs and organized criminal syndicates."
Te also called for the Supreme Court and the Universities and Colleges to "take steps to ensure stricter regulation... on pain of stringent sanctions including expulsion and criminal prosecution, if warranted,” but not total prohibition, "as the fraternities will simply go underground and be totally unchecked."

Move bar venue
Other groups have called for the bar exams to be moved to a new venue next year, due to security concerns.
In a letter to Corona, Volunteers against Crime and Corruption (VACC) Chairman Dante Jimenez said that the bar exams should be moved to a venue which would “offer more conducive ambiance for such a serious academic undertaking.”
“Near the DLSU campus, several beer joints, discos and other fun establishments operate where fraternity groups and student gangs congregate. This may aggravate the threat of disorder during the Bar exams that may foment even worse violence,” he said.
“It is not far-fetched that a similar kind of violence may again occur if no proper measures are put in place,” he added.

Soft kiss and wine
What a pretty friend of mine
We're finally intertwined
Nervous and shy for the moment we will come alive
Tonight
Secret valentine

[Chorus:]
We'll write a song
That turns out the lights
When both boy and girl start suddenly shaking inside
Don't waste your time
Speed up your breathing
Just close your eyes
We'll hope it's for nothing at all

Lay down, be still
Don't worry talk they will
I'll be loving you until
Morning's first light
Breaks tomorrow
I'll take care of you tonight

[Chorus:]
We'll write a song
That turns out the lights
When both boy and girl start suddenly shaking inside
Don't waste your time
Speed up your breathing
Just close your eyes
We'll hope it's for nothing at all
Nothing at all

When guilt fills your head
Brush off rise up from the dead
This is the moment that we will come alive
Brace yourself for love
Sweet love, secret love

[Chorus:]
We'll write a song that turns out the lights
When both boy and girl start suddenly shaking inside
Don't waste your time
Speed up your breathing
Just close your eyes
We'll hope it's for nothing at all
(We'll write a song)
That turn's out the lights
When both boy and girl start suddenly shaking inside
Don't waste your time
Speed up your breathing
Just close your eyes
We'll hope it's for nothing at all
Nothing at all
